Mayor’s Food Drive

The 12th annual Mayor’s Food Drive runs through November and December to support local families this holiday season. In November, help raise $59,500 to serve over 1,700 Thanksgiving meals to families in the Sumner-Bonney Lake, White River, and Dieringer school districts by making an online donation through Community Big Give. Then, in early December, we will begin collecting nonperishable food items for distribution by GoodRoots Northwest.

Your generosity makes a real difference-reminding us that giving is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen our community. Together, we can make this season brighter for our neighbors.

All funds given above and beyond the targeted amount will be rolled into the 2026 Community Big Give account.

COMMUNITY BIG GIVE is an annual event, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. On this day we distribute groceries to targeted families in need within the Sumner-Bonney Lake, Dieringer & White River School District Communities who have signed up for a meal. This year we distributed 1,700 meals through a combination of delivery and pickups at our local food banks.

Open Life Church has generously volunteered to allow their secure online giving systems to manage the donations for the Community Big Give.  They are even picking up the tab for any processing fees associated with your online donations. 100% of your donation goes to the purchase of meals for families.  If your organization or you personally would want to be a part of helping with administrative costs (signage, printing, gear for volunteers, etc), keeping 100% of the donations below going towards food, email thadh@communitybiggive.com.
